Kinaya Sokoya is a certified Social Work Manager who is Executive Director of the DC Children’s Trust Fund for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. She is an ABD in Higher Education Administration, holds a masters degree in Business and Public Administration and an undergraduate degree in Social Work. She is a certified diversity trainer, a mediator, an infant massage instructor, and a facilitator of discussion groups on bigotry. Ms. Sokoya has received numerous awards and citations for her work in innovative program development to combat domestic violence and develop cultural competency. Ms. Sokoya was listed in Who's Who in Executives & Professionals, 1997-98, 2005-06, and 2010-2011.

For 10 years, Ms. Sokoya was executive director of the Family Crisis Center of Prince George’s County, a comprehensive domestic violence service organization. Since leaving the organization, she has provided training on domestic violence prevention and intervention on the local, state, and national levels. During the 10 years Ms. Sokoya was the Family Crisis Center, she was a member of the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence (MNADV). For three of the years, she served as the organization’s president. MNADV conducts public education campaigns, launches special initiatives, and provides training and technical assistance to domestic violence service providers. Each year, the organization advocates for the passage of laws to increase protection for victims of domestic violence.
